I wanted to make a dead simple hummus recipe today and to even up my game a bit; i’m doing it WITHOUT costly Tahini! If you don’t know; Tahini is a main traditional ingredient when making hummus. All Tahini really is, is ground up sesame seeds made into a paste like texture. It’s quite expensive and I really have no particular taste for it so leaving it out seemed fine to me.

This is so basic it’s practically “HTML” hahaha…the geeks will get that reference ;D I like to make recipes that give you guys a wide open playground of culinary options to add or subtract any additions you might like so it’s something to be proud of. I like my hummus with come baby carrots, spread on a sandwich, with some crackers or if I add peanut butter instead of Tahini as a dessert!

I know there are many other hummus recipes available online so if you choose mine let me know in the comments because I will feel honored to have contributed, really.

Instructions
  1. Rinse and empty your beans into a bowl. Now I decided to remove the skins off of each bean which I heard makes for an extra creamy and smooth texture in the final product but by all means if your impatient or just really don't mind the skins skip this step.
  2. The aftermath of skinning two cans of beans and 25 minutes later lol.
  3. Here is my suggestion for seasonings but choose what you want.
  4. Place beans, oil, seasonings into food processor or blender and add water until you get the consistency you want. Tah Da! Store it in the fridge for up to a week.
