  1. Lay out your dried lentils on a baking sheet to sift through them for any small pebbles, odd lentils or other debris. I have only ever found one or two very small pebbles in all the years I have done this so just take 30 secs before placing the lentils in a strainer and give them a quick rinse in the sink.
  2. Add 1 cup lentils and 2 cups water to a pot. *This is where you need to add any stock or seasonings you may be using.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Bring the lentils down to a simmer by reducing the heat and cover/cook for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. After the lentils have cooked they will be much larger in size and volume(like rice) and should be soft but not easily breakable(unlike red lentils).
  6. Add a little salt and pepper to taste and you have just made lentils. *freeze them after they have cooled.
